Why Hand Crank Oil Pump Cannot Pump Oil&Solutions

When your hand crank oil pump fails to suck up oil,the problem mostly comes from air leakage,dry internal parts,blocked pipelines or improper operation.Below are common causes and corresponding solutions.

Common Causes

Air enters the pump body

Air inside the pump destroys vacuum pressure,which is the most frequent reason for no oil suction.It usually occurs after maintenance,long-time idle storage or pipeline disconnection.

Lack of lubricant and dry sealing parts

The sealing gaskets and piston inside the pump become dry and hard,resulting in poor sealing performance and air leakage.

Oil inlet pipe blocked

Impurities,sediment or oil residues clog the oil suction pipe,filter screen or inlet valve.

Improper operating speed and direction

Too slow cranking speed cannot form effective suction pressure;wrong rotating direction also leads to no oil pumping.

Damaged internal components

Worn piston,aging sealing ring,broken valve ball or spring failure inside the pump.

Too low oil level

The inlet of the oil suction pipe is above the liquid level of oil tank.

Troubleshooting Solutions

Exhaust air from the pump

Pour a small amount of oil into the pump inlet first,then crank the handle repeatedly to discharge internal air until oil flows out stably.

Check and seal air leakage points

Inspect all pipe joints,gaskets and connectors.Tighten loose nuts and replace aging seals.

Clean the oil suction pipeline

Remove impurities and dirt on the filter screen,oil pipe and inlet valve to keep the oil passage unobstructed.

Standardize manual operation

Crank the handle at a steady and proper speed,and confirm the correct rotating direction.

Maintain internal pump parts

Lubricate the piston and sealing rings regularly.Replace worn seals,damaged valve balls and failed springs in time.

Adjust oil suction position

Lower the oil inlet pipe to make sure it is fully submerged under the oil surface.
