Common Faults and Troubleshooting of Hand Crank Oil Pump
1.Failure to suck oil/No oil output
Causes
Air trapped inside the pump breaks vacuum suction.
Clogged oil inlet filter and suction pipeline.
Worn, dry piston leather cups leading to air leakage.
Loose connections of oil suction pipes.
Low oil level in oil tank with suction pipe above oil surface.
Solutions
Pour a little oil into pump body and crank repeatedly to exhaust air.
Clean impurities from filter screen and oil pipelines.
Replace worn leather cups and sealing rings, and lubricate parts.
Tighten all pipe joints to seal air leakage points.
Refuel the tank to keep suction pipe fully submerged.
2.Oil leakage
Causes
Aged, worn and hardened sealing rings and leather cups.
Loose threaded joints and pipe connectors.
Damaged or missing sealing gaskets.
Cracks and damage on pump body.
Excessively fast cranking causes high internal pressure.
Solutions
Replace aging and worn sealing components.
Tighten loose joints and seal threads with thread seal tape.
Replace damaged sealing gaskets.
Replace the whole pump if pump body is cracked.
Crank the handle at uniform speed without violent rotation.
3.Low oil output and weak oil flow
Causes
Partial blockage of oil circuit and filter screen.
Slightly worn seals resulting in insufficient suction.
Too slow cranking speed.
Bent oil pipes blocking oil flow.
Solutions
Clean inlet and outlet pipelines as well as filter.
Replace slightly worn sealing parts.
Operate handle at steady and proper speed.
Straighten oil pipes to keep oil passage smooth.
4.Hard cranking and heavy resistance
Causes
Lack of lubrication inside pump causes dry friction.
Internal oil sludge and impurities block piston movement.
Clogged oil outlet pipeline leads to excessive pressure.
Stuck and deformed internal spring.
Solutions
Lubricate internal piston components.
Disassemble and clean internal dirt and sediment.
Unclog oil outlet pipeline to relieve pressure.
Repair or replace deformed internal springs.
5.Handle idling with no pressure
Causes
Severely worn or fallen piston leather cups.
Complete failure of piston sealing performance.
Stuck damaged internal check valve and steel ball.
Solutions
Replace piston leather cups and sealing parts.
Clean and repair check valve and steel ball.
Reassemble internal components of pump.
